This position is for a “Spring 2023 Semester” Water Asset Management intern to start January 2023, can work during spring semester and/or summer 2023 break.
Description
To provide support to the Water Asset Management team in maintaining and optimizing clients water infrastructure. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the water industry and develop skills in process control, logistics, leak detection, water asset management, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to water assets, such as sensors, pumps, pipelines, and reservoirs.
- Participate in the planning and execution of water asset management projects.
- Support the development and implementation of water asset management plans and Service Center/Technical Hub operations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information and assess the condition of water assets.
- Prepare presentations, reports, procedures, and other communications materials as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and other departmental activities as required.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as civil, mechanical, industrial engineering, environmental science, Geology or water resource management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
- Knowledge of ESRI, water asset management principles, and practices is a plus.
Working Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week
Compensation: Hourly rate based on qualifications and experience
