The Position: We are looking for a Lead Clinician to provide supervision to the mental health rehab specialists and peer specialists.  In addition, the Lead Clinician will serve as the primary point of contact for Riverside County SELPA and regularly communicate with community partners.  The lead clinician serves as a support to the clinical team in ensuring that needed services are provided appropriately, while working collaboratively with school and community partner personnel. 

 

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $69,641 annually depending (Based) on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Licensed or licensed eligible and registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Prior mental health service experience strongly preferred
  • Prior DMH mental health experience preferred
  • One year post-licensure strongly preferred
  • Word Processing; Excellent Writing Skills, General Office Skills; Typing of 50 WPM
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) highly preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites on campus
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift 10 pounds

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise MHRS, Peer Partners, and other paraprofessional to assure appropriate service delivery and documentation.
  • Review notes, care plans, and assessments of the clinical team to assure effective care is provided according to county standards and agency expectations. 
  • Manage team meetings to train staff and review changing county and agency documentation and service delivery needs.
  • Serve as the primary clinician for school-based and/or community-based children and their families.  Caseload will vary.
  • Provide mental health services including individual and family counseling, specialized groups as needed in the schools and or community.
  • Meet with each child/family for individual/family therapy at a minimum of a weekly basis (or as clinically indicated).
  • Plan, implement and provide mental health services to the clients and their families.  
  • Believe that people can change; demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Riverside County SELPA.
  • Regularly collaborate with school personnel regarding service needs or concerns with team members.
  • Participate in all SELPA meetings.
  • Meet regularly with an interdisciplinary team to discuss treatment objectives ,status and progress.
  • Provide crisis intervention as requested
  • Remain on call for clinical emergencies.
  • Provide direct services to children and families in the school, home and/or in the community. 
  • Participate in chart reviews and other QA functions.
  • Maintain all required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Attend all required supervision, department and agency meetings.
  • Take responsibility for on-going development of professional skills.
  • Attend all required agency training.
  • Participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
