Purpose: We are looking for a Vocational Coordinator, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The role of the Vocational Coordinator is to be responsible for providing resources, training, and linkages to potential employment readiness skills to the youth from ages 9-17 years old in the program.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
• Ability to commute to various sites on campus
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb and kneel
• Word Processing
• Excellent Writing Skills
• General Office Skills

Key Responsibilities:

• The Vocational Coordinator conducts vocational assessments with UCs in the shelter care program.
• Provides professional support to UCs by maintaining regular contact at least 1x/week to provide personal support, consultation, as necessary, including guidance and instruction pertaining to the UCs vocational needs.
• Responsible for service coordination by assisting clients in implementing their plan of care by facilitating access to and providing community resource linkages.
• Maintains daily record of vocational activities in exym/UC Portal per the Company and government standards. 
• Develops and maintain professional working relationships with agencies and service providers to provide UCs with the most relevant vocational information for training.
• Support UCs with identifying steps to vocational paths and training information.   
• Create an organizational culture that respects and celebrates the diversity of all UCs.
• Assist the Lead Activity Coordinator with facilitation and implementation of activities related to career interests such as but not limited to career exploration inventories, facilitating workshops, pathways to employment, linkages to career one stop employment readiness facilities, linkages to UCs on higher education resources, development of resumes and interviewing skills.
