What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packoff 1st Shift (L1) position at McLane Classic Foods?

McLane Classic Foods is a premier custom kettle cooked food products company based in Burleson, Texas. Specializing in custom product development, we produce a wide range of kettle cooked recipes for our regional and national chain restaurant partners. Our capabilities include an array of kettle cooked food products including soups, sauces, side dishes and dips.
Shift: 1st - Monday thru Saturday 8:30am - 6pm
Role and Responsibilities
Employee will be responsible for removing chilled product from the line, placing correct number of pouches carefully into case and ensuring case receives date code, label and is taped correctly.
- Ensure finished product to be packed is within acceptable temperature range.
- Construct, stamp, tape, label, etc. boxes as necessary.
- Inspect product pouches and cases for damage, pin holes, bad seals, incorrect/missing coding, etc.
- Place correct number of pouches into box.
- Ensure batch segregation by completing one batch before moving to next batch.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Sweep, clean, remove trash and remove inedible as necessary.
- Additional responsibilities as instructed by Pack-off Lead, Production Line Lead or Production Supervisor.
- Adhere with plant GMP’s and safety guidelines.
Skills and requirements
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Be able to stoop, bend and climb steps.
- Be able to Lift 20-60 lbs.
- Be able to work in warehouse environment that may be cold or hot, depending on season during 8 hour shift.
- Basic literacy skills (English) – to read product code information.
- Allergen training required.
Additional Notes
May be required to assist pack-off lead with associated paperwork, stack boxes on pallet, operate date coder and tape machine.
