What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reg Manager, Asset Protection position at McLane Company?
Responsible for the loss prevention and security management in a given region. The region will include the distribution centers, satellite locations, and transportation assets from multiple business units. Ensure safety and security of the organization's employees, customers, visitors and property. Conduct loss prevention assessments, including identifying and characterizing potential risks. Develop processes and procedures to manage and mitigate loss and security risks to acceptable levels. Oversee and conduct security activities, including controlling entry and exit to the organization's premises and safeguarding employees, facilities, equipment, and property.
- Manage the regional asset protection team. Hire, fire, evaluate, coach and mentor team as required.
- Work with the Director of Asset Protection to develop and implement an enterprise-wide asset protection and security program.
- Partner with internal stake-holders to include Operations, Human Resources and Corporate Support to identify areas of loss exposure and mitigation.
- Conduct internal and external investigations related to theft, fraud and improprieties.
- Act as a company liaison with law enforcement and customer Loss Prevention departments.
- Develop the department budget and forecast for assigned areas.
- Ensure that the security in each respective distribution center is appropriate, safe and secure.
- Work directly with security guard companies’ national, area and local account management.
- Assist with the design, implementation and vendor management for all physical security applications.
- Identify and benchmark best in class practices through industry-peer interaction.
- Research data analytics on package/pallet chain of custody to identify loss trending within the internal supply chain.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred
- Wicklander Basic & Advanced Certificate preferred
- Minimum of 7 years Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, and/or Security Management experience in a supply chain, distribution or transportation environment.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the application of physical security software and hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter able to work independently with no direct supervision
- Excellent organization and time management skills
