Job Description
Simulation Engineer
The Simulation Engineer participates in the development of the company and contributes to the actions of progress and improvement with all the production units in close collaboration with the foundry engineering department.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
- 3-5 years related experience or training
- Complete understanding of engines, transmissions, driveline components and systems.
- Experience with CAD packages
- Understanding and practical application of operational shop math, Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Key Accountabilities
- Uses numerical simulation software in accordance with the projects assigned. Simulation software MAGMAsoft and Flow3D.
- Uses computer tools to communicate the technical analysis and discuss with production sites and customers.
- Communication and exchange of information with internal and external customers.
- Support activities and interact with project teams for the product development by continuously updating the simulation models and databases. To perform calculations and analysis of the results obtained in the simulations.
- Support the design of Gating system by means of virtual simulations, location of overflows and vacuum system.
- To perform analysis of residual stresses and distortion of the part for the different stages of the casting process.
- To perform analysis of solidification and thermal analysis of the die for new product development.
- Participate in the definition of cooling/heating lines for the development of new product.
- To perform Pilot and R&D topics related to numerical simulations that can help to achieve group objectives.
- To perform validation activities of the simulation models.
- Documentation of documents related to the analysis performed and proposing solutions to the problems obtained.
- To keep updated in the scientific means to carry out research themes to ensure the advancement of research programs.
