As the Risk Manager at Montgomery County Hospital Clinics, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk management programs to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. Operating within a critical access hospital setting, you will identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks associated with healthcare operations, thereby safeguarding the organization against liabilities and enhancing overall quality of care.
The Risk Manager will work primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel to various departments and off-site locations as needed. This position may involve some evening or weekend hours to accommodate meetings, training sessions, or incident investigations. The role requires interaction with hospital staff, patients, families, regulatory agencies, legal counsel, and insurance providers.
Education/Experience
-Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, risk management, preferred.
-Certification in healthcare risk management (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management - CPHRM) highly desirable.
-Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare related field, or healthcare risk management, or State Licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
-Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety principles, and risk management methodologies.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
-Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software applications.
