Description

SUMMARY: The Multi Unit Director of Sales is responsible for the total sales and marketing efforts of 2 hotels. They develop and implement sales strategies to identify new business and further penetrate existing accounts resulting in revenue and market share growth for specific hotel portfolios.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                           

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Cultivate a respectful workplace maintaining and holding accountable the sales department to respect of attendance, respect of performance, respect of behavior and respect of common sense and judgement
  • Oversees all aspects of the sales process and sales team for assigned accounts and market segments at each hotel
  • Leads the sales team at each hotel to solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts including outside selling and prospecting
  • Maximize revenues to meet and/or exceed goals for each hotel
  • Develop and implement creative sales strategies by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market account trends
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate accounts and travel industry accounts
  • Create and distribute effective internal and external communications (written and verbal)
  • Manages direct reports to accomplish performance and revenue goals.
  • Provides developmental coaching and guidance for long-term career growth opportunities to all direct reports.
  • Trains, conducts planning sessions, and performance reviews with direct reports and disciplines when necessary
  • Follows company policies and procedures at all times
  • Ensures fair treatment and respect of employees and guests
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                                                           

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years in hotels sales preferred. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.

 

Skills: Multi Unit Directors of Sales possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors and associates), solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills, and appreciation for diversity. (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.) They must have thorough knowledge of negotiation and sales procedures as they relate to the hotel industry. The Multi Unit Director of Sales must be a strong team player as well as master the ability to work independently. Must possess a high level of prioritizing/organization capabilities to achieve objectives, oversee multiple projects and manage direct reports.

 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be a part of a fast-moving environment that can be challenging to meet budget goals and beat competitors in the market to grow hotels’ RevPAR index.

 

 Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

 

RELATIONSHIPS:                                                                                                                                       

 

Internal:  General Manager, Peers, Chief Engineer, Sales Manager, line level associates and Field Operations at the corporate level

 

External: Guests: To provide customer service
