JOB DESCRIPTION: UNIT CLERK
Department: Medical/Surgical
- Full-time
Job Summary: Perform clerical duties while coordinating communication throughout the nursing department. Completes paperwork as appropriate while assisting nursing staff and physicians.
Essential Functions/Accountabilities:
- Requestion supplies and inventory for staff so it is readily available.
- Update charts so all information is current for nurses/physicians.
- Orders labs, x-ray, etc. on order entry software as directed by the RN form MD orders.
- Perform clinical duties such as answer telephone, greeting visitors, answer questions, and directing messages to provide an organized flow of communication.
- Organizes and schedules all outpatient infusions.
- Answers call lights for patients when nurses are unavailable.
- Obtain patient medical records from other facilities/provider offices.
- Enter observation patient charges and blood administration charges into EMR.
- Schedule follow-up appointment for patients and enter in EMR.

EDUCATION
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) may include specialized or vocational courses
EXPERIENCE
- Secretarial Skills
- Computer skills related to CPSI and Outlook
- Formal training for certified nurse aide course
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills

Salary : $27,800 - $35,100
