Position Overview
MCRA seeks a self-motivated, well-organized and creative Administrative/Office Associate to work in a fast-paced consulting firm. The Administrative/Office Associate will be responsible for managing components of office operations, greeting and welcoming guests, answering and transferring calls, and will provide project support for various initiatives company wide.
The ideal candidate is someone who has strong organizational skills, adept at scheduling and spreadsheets, and is willing to take on increasing responsibility in a dynamic and growing firm. They will be familiar with best practices for how to run an office, and able to adapt to changing systems and situations. This position will be based in MCRA's Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills through significant interaction and coordination with senior management, professional staff, as well as clients
- Handle all aspects of standard office activities including maintaining schedules (using Outlook Calendar), bookkeeping, financial processes, business operations, preparing correspondence, scheduling and coordinating company events and meetings, ordering supplies, maintaining kitchen and performing other administrative and executive support functions as required
- Plan and coordinate meetings, events, and participation in industry conferences, preparing associated announcements, agendas, presentation materials and minutes, tracking participants and coordinating food and lodging as needed
- Answer and direct telephone calls to the company's main phone line
- Greet and welcome guests, clients, and out-of-town staff; assist with seating and office setup and assignment
- Maintain paper and electronic filing systems; and perform document control
- Create, proofread and format materials in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
Requirements
- Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills along with a strong phone presence.
- Must be able to positively and professionally represent MCRA and communicate to clients and colleagues.
- Prior experience supporting senior management and professional staff in an administrative capacity.
- Significant teamwork skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to organize and coordinate the efforts of others required (scheduling meetings, setup meetings, etc.)
- Demonstrated strong proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as advanced typing proficiency (typing test may be required).
- Previous office management and/or administrative assistant experience - preferred but not necessary
- Experience and ability to multi-task and respond in a demanding, fast paced working environment
- Able to work independently with minimal direction and anticipate administrative requirements for a business unit
- Ability to work both independently and with personnel from multiple organizations and departments
- Able to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment and discretion
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and time-management skills
