This position performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
MCS has an opening for a Structured Cabling Site Supervisor position in Augusta, Georgia. We are looking for this to be a full-time, permanent position with a benefits package.
Below are details about the position. We are looking to bring someone on immediately.
- 10 years in the Telecommunications field. Needs to be able to manage crews of 5 , knowledge of best cabling practices/Bicsi Standards/industry standards as well as code Must be able to read and understand prints, specs, and all related job documents.
- Knowledge of Safety practices, the ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to pull, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and repair Cat5, Cat6, Coax, and Fiber Optic cabling. Must possess basic industry-used hand tools. Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, smartphone.
- Individuals must be self-motivated and organized to take a project set of plans, specifications, and Bill of Materials to plan the weekly goals and create a work plan to advance a project.
- Must ensure that his work plan meets the requirements of the project schedule and that his work plan will meet the milestone dates of the project schedule.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and have excellent communication skills.
- This person will be the direct point of contact to coordinate with other trades to ensure any dependencies are in place prior to our work starting.
- Individuals must be able to communicate effectively with the project manager to ensure timely delivery of material to have available for the work planned for that week and able to effectively forecast his material and labor requirements for the upcoming work.
- This person will be completely responsible for the Labor and Materials assigned to the project and be able to lead and coach others.
- Travel may be needed in 2023.
Fundamental Functions
Work Environment
- Work assignments may vary based on client requirements.
- Work may be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
- Work may be performed in the field. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy or windy climates.
Schedule
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
- It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
- You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.
- Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with varying field conditions.
Physical Requirements
- May require climbing, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 30 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Equipment and Machines
- General office equipment includes but is not limited to: PC/laptop, telephone, copier, servers, switches, routers and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
- General field equipment includes but is not limited to: hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts and test equipment.
- May require operating motor vehicles.
Travel
- Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel.
- Valid Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
- Continental and Overseas travel may be required. A current passport is required for Overseas travel.
Other Essential Functions
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
