M&H Valve is seeking an Assembly & Test Operator in Anniston Alabama.

 

Summary

Performs repetitive line assembly operations of valves and hydrants and tests completed units.

Responsibilities

  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
  • Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
  • Follows detailed job specific instructions to make sure assemblies and tests are produced in the most efficient manner and meet customer specifications.
  • Conducts daily inspection of equipment.
  • Inspect parts as they are assembled.
  • Bolts or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Tends machines to perform fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Utilizes hand tools and air tool throughout shift.
  • Works in various work stations as dictated by production requirements.
  • Works with the team to reduce / eliminate bottlenecks to reach team goals.
  • Works on continuous improvement projects.
  • Notifies supervisor of production errors or equipment malfunctions.
  • Clears equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
  • Records problems which occurred, such as down time, root causes and actions taken.
  • Meets or exceeds hourly production rates every hour.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the production area.
  • Proactively promotes The McWane Way Principles.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
