Who We Are……    

McWane Inc. has a newly created division, McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI). This new division, based in Birmingham, AL, combines all Plant and Industrial Products in a single customer-focused package. We offer comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is “easiest to do business with”.  We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants.  We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, we will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure we are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades.

Position:

Application Engineer, McWane Plant & Industrial

Location:

Birmingham, AL or will consider Remote with quarterly travel to Birmingham

Directly reports to:

Director of Engineering – MPI

Position Purpose:

Collaborate with Inside and Outside Sales to develop and implement optimal product solutions to meet customer applications.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Provide Submittals, O&M manuals, schematics, and product information to internal/external customers

Support valve rep agents and sales teams to ensure offered solutions align with project scope

Work closely with manufacturing and planning teams to meet project requirements

Develop product training material for inside and outside sales teams

Essential Functions:

Submittal drawing generation (2D & 3D CAD)

Project-specific Model/BOM creation for Mfg

Technical training material development; Product Training, Lessons Learned

Spec review, Customer query/clarification support

Library development of vendor equipment

Follow ISO procedures to ensure consistency with customer specifications

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering.

Project management experience and project management software skills.

Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects with attention to detail. Excellent time management skills.

Detail oriented, adept at reading documents and engineering drawings and specifications.  

Valid driver’s license with no major violations.   

Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Mechanical aptitude or engineering background.

Must be a team player
