The Project Director, Program Planning, and Implementation will report directly to the Director, Program Planning and Implementation, Office of CME, assuming a pivotal role in implementing and executing strategic programs led or executive-sponsored by the CME. This position will oversee a portfolio of projects that support MD Anderson's REACH and VALUE strategic themes, including initiatives focused on multi-state licensure, virtual care, and in-bound international patient services. The Project Director will develop implementation frameworks, execution plans, and translate strategic goals into tactics. The Project Director will work across the MD Anderson continuum, triangulating communication between the CME office and key institutional areas to ensure alignment and collaboration. Other duties may involve representing the CME office in various forums and supporting significant institutional projects requiring CME office involvement. The individual's collaboration will extend across all essential CME functional areas, including academic-clinical divisions. The individual's work will be instrumental in advancing the strategic vision of the CME, encompassing idea conceptualization, creation of business case documents, business plans, white papers, and executive-level presentations of the highest quality.

Key Functions

Program Development and Management

Support the planning, development, and implementation of CME strategic programs and initiatives. Ensure programs align with institutional strategic goals and deliver measurable outcomes.

Strategic Communication and Coordination

Triangulate communication between the CME office and key institutional areas to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Serve as the primary liaison between departments to facilitate smooth implementation of programs and initiatives.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the CME office and key functional areas within the institution.

Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement

Acting under the guidance of the Director Program Planning and Implementation and the Associate Vice President (AVP) for the CME office, the individual will play in key role in shepherding all projects from initiating to completion, leveraging the right project management tools to ensure project success.

Plan, initiate, and manage CME led projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

Engage with internal to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure project alignment with institutional priorities.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings, committees, and deliver presentations to drive project success.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress and effectiveness.

Prepare and present regular reports on project status, outcomes, and impact to senior leadership.

Special Projects Conceptualization, Implementation and Execution

Support the execution of unique and impactful initiatives either led by the CME office or with CME office involvement.

Collaborate closely with the CME office directors and AVP and other leaders to ideate innovative solutions to complex problems that impede the execution of the institutional mission and strategic priorities.

Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and key performance indicators, to ensure the successful execution of these special projects.

Lead the development of business case analysis and business plans for key projects and initiatives as directed by the CME.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Preferred: Master's of Business Administration, Master's of Healthcare Administration, Master's of Public Health, or similar graduate degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Six years of experience in healthcare and/or research program development and management to include three years supervisory, lead or project management experience. With preferred degree, four years of experience in healthcare or research program development and management to include two years supervisory, lead or project management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Experience in healthcare and/or research program development and management to include three years of supervisory, lead or project management work.
