MD Architects is seeking an Architect to work in close partnership with our teams at our location in Indianapolis, IN.

We are looking to welcome an Architect to help design, document, and coordinate ground-up and addition projects. Candidate must have experience with construction documents, strong initiative, and the desire to grow as our firm continues to grow. Architect would be responsible for assisting Studio Directors in managing projects and coordination with clients. They will be responsible for coordinating consultants to ensure there are no conflicts between disciplines or with the project design. They will coordinate with studio advisors to develop complex details required for projects. MD operates in a team environment, so we are looking for someone who is personable, reliable, and has a desire to collaborate with team members.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture
- 2-5 years min post-college experience with an architectural design firm
- Architectural license, or on the path to licensure
- Proficient in Adobe or Bluebeam, MS Office Suite
- Advanced knowledge of Revit – production and presentation
- Proficient with building codes and standards
- Proficient with Comcheck building envelope reports
- Entry-level experience or beyond with Project management
- Personal love for animals preferred, but not required
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to manage your own time and recognize priority of tasks within the team
- Develop schematic designs in collaboration with project team
- Ability to lead client meetings and communicate professionally with client
- Maintain a project schedule / budget as outlined per project
- Coordinate with MEP, Structural, and Civil engineers per project and resolve basic issues
- Coordinate with product reps for requirements, specifications, and to resolve basic issues
- Ability to prepare full construction documentation with assistance for complex details
- Ability to lead the permitting / bidding processes with minor assistance from leadership
- Ability to write project manual specifications is preferred
- Assist the Construction Administrator / perform Construction Administration tasks
- Ability to independently develop basic exterior details and overall wall sections
- Develop miscellaneous architectural details for other projects as needed
