We are seeking highly motivated, talented, and driven individuals to join Mead Lumber Company, Inc. as Interns.  As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn from industry professionals in a fast-paced environment. 
 
Mead Lumber Company, Inc. is a leading provider of products to professional contractors, construction builders, and remodelers. Our growing, 100% Employee-Owned Company, consists of lumber yards, hardware stores, home centers, rental centers, countertop and millwork fabrication facilities and truss/wall panel plants. We have 53 operating locations across 9 Midwestern states. We are the 12th largest building material suppliers to professional builders in the country. We continue to grow and are in search of driven individuals who desire an opportunity to apply and strengthen their skills.
 
POSITION SUMMARY: 

Interns will be exposed to a wide range of tasks and projects, providing valuable skills and knowledge that will kickstart a career in the building materials industry following graduation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the company, including operations, drafting/estimating, sales support, and customer service.
  • Work closely with various departments to support their needs and projects.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and operations.
  • Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in different areas of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Construction Management, Business, Sales/Marketing, Drafting, or a related discipline/major (Junior/Senior status preferred).
  • Previous experience in Building Materials, Retail, Construction, or related industry a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
