What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrub Tech position at Meade District Hospital?

Meade District Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Scrub Tech.

Hours will be split between our Surgery Department and Central Supply Department.

**Hours spent in Central Supply will depending on how many surgeries are scheduled each week.

Responsibilities:

Maintain patient and system confidentiality
Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with providers, personnel, and support agencies.
Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of patient.
prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
demonstrates competence in care of specimens
assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients.
accurately completes counts and follows proper procedure in the even of incorrect count.
maintains safe environment for patients, co-workers and self
checks all equipment/instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
treats patients with respect and dignity
anticipates needs of surgeon during intra-operative phase
cleans and prepares rooms between procedures, after case, restocks supplies and organizes effectively for end-of-case clean up
responsible for care of instruments including cleaning and processing.
consults other staff members when in question or unfamiliar with equipment or procedure.
performs any tasks assigned by your supervisor.
