Position Overview:

As an Infection Prevention Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control practices within our organization. You will work closely with our healthcare staff, patients, and other stakeholders to implement and monitor infection prevention protocols, policies, and procedures. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential risks, developing strategies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with current guidelines and best practices.

Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention measures, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and environmental sanitation.

Conduct regular infection control audits, surveillance activities, and outbreak investigations to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver educational programs to enhance infection prevention awareness.

Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and regulations related to infection control, and disseminate relevant information to staff.

Serve as a resource for staff, patients, and families regarding infection prevention and control practices.

Participate in the development and review of infection prevention-related policies and protocols.

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and certification in infection control (CIC) preferred.

Proven experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Strong knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and infection control principles.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines from organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing healthcare environment.
