This position is every Saturday and Sunday with a rotating weekend schedule of 6am-2pm (weekend 1) and 11am-7pm (weekend 2)

Essential Job Requirements:
- Prepare food daily, as outlined on the weekly menu plan.
- Coordinate and participate in serving food.
- Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
- Identify food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and report to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control.
- Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery. Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
- Notify manager of malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial cooking or domestic cooking with large groups preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience planning, working, and preparing food daily, from the weekly menu plan
- Strong organizational skills
- Capable of reading, speaking, and understanding the English language
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with commercial cooking or domestic cooking with large groups
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Practice safety in working with and around kitchen equipment.
- Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
- State food-handling and kitchen regulations
- Operation of kitchen appliances (dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, blender, food processor, meat slicer, mixer, etc.) and office equipment (photocopier, telephone)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in food-preparation training is preferred
- Experience in supervision is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and help others
- Enjoyment in working with older adults
