Design Engineer - Mechanical

We seek a results-focused, innovative, customer-centric well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Design Engineer – Mechanical. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will manage mechanical product design and performance by balancing expertise in analytical engineering, problem-solving with creativity, innovation, and proof-of-concept prototyping through to commercial implementation of companywide fluid delivery products and services. You will:

• Develop equipment that drives strategic growth initiatives by designing, incorporating, and championing innovative fluid delivery concepts that lead to commercialized new products or technology
• Utilize established engineering principles for design verificationby performing simulations, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing analysis, thermal transfer and fluid dynamics analyses, and evaluating mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical system qualities, conducting hands-on trials and bench tests to prove the feasibility of concepts and functions.
• Serve as a technical leader in stage-gate projects by authoring technical specifications, and maintaining data, documentation, and product Design History Files (DHF)
• Support, maintain, and validate legacy products by implementing Engineering Change Request (ECR), cost reduction programs, and Value Analysis/ Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives
• Effectively manage the vendor appropriation system by soliciting competitive quotes for fabrication, overseeing items meet specifications, and tracking expenses against planned budgets
• Foster an environment that openly shares work ideas and routinely seeks feedback by serving as an internal customer advocate, proactively collecting feedback, and coordinating design reviews
• Optimize products by researching then incorporating emerging technologies and methodologies, competitive solutions, market trends, and advanced manufacturing control protocols and platforms
