Controls Technician

Mechanical Resource Group, an HVAC, hydronics, sales, and service organization, is seeking a Service Controls Technician. The Service Controls Technician position is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of controls and commercial/industrial HVAC equipment with a primary focus on controls. This position utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, electrical, theory, control system, air, and hydronic distribution.

Responsibilities

· Maintain and repair controls and heating, ventilation, and cooling units for commercial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.

· Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.

· Startup installed equipment and adjust to the manufacturer’s and job’s specification.

· Perform required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations. Have client sign necessary paperwork.

· Ability to make ethical and responsible decisions while keeping the customer and our company interests in mind.

· Provide sales personnel with qualified leads and opportunities.

Skills

· 3 years HVAC controls field experience.

· 3 years of BACnet, MODbus and/or Lonworks experience.

· Strong controls troubleshooting experience.

· Knowledge and understanding of both construction and services processes utilized in the fulfillment of HVAC services.

· Knowledge of third party control systems and integration platforms.

· Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret plans and manuals.

· Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.

· Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.

· Strong problem solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
