Position Summary

Under the general direction of management; maintains, administers, and optimizes company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. The System Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree required.
Previous professional level experience in network and/or systems administration or a combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu required bachelor’s degree.

Job Specific Performance Standards

The duties listed below are a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned, and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Provide Tier 2 support for the IT Help Desk and other support per request from various parties.
- Documents server and database changes. Responsible for software installation, maintenance, upgrade assistance, research, and troubleshooting. Responsible for the management, maintenance and upkeep of CHC’s Citrix farm as well as the Caradigm SSO application.
- Provides integrated team support and maintenance to all PC, Server, LAN, and WAN related hardware and software. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, including upgrading administrative tools and utilities. Responsible for the protection of data and the network from inadvertent or unauthorized persons or unauthorized purposes and management of End Point Security software.
- Manages and maintains Microsoft Exchange and other email technologies. Manages and maintains Mobile Device Management software. Manages Anti-Virus and Device Encryption software throughout the corporation.
- Responsible for backups of all server related systems. Insures proper backup and rotation of archival data. Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly rotation of data storage media. Ensures backup procedures are valid and restoration of data is possible.
- Create, delete, and modify Active Directory users. Responsible for CHC Active Directory Domain and all child domains.
- Trains and assists staff in using hardware and software efficiently. Participates in team projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of the Information Technology Department.
- Communicates with management to determine priorities among projects. Informs various departments in advance of scheduled downtime so they may plan their workload accordingly. Communicates relevant information between management, peers, and users to facilitate efficient organizational performance. Utilizes Track-It Help Desk system to document issues and resolutions.
