WELL-VERSED MEDICAL COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

DescriptionWELL-VERSED MEDICAL COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST to serve as the liaison between Insurance companies, patients, and Providers. This critical role is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely claim submissions, monitoring claim status, and researching rejections and denials. They are responsible for observing accounts to identify overdue payments both from the Insurance company and the patient, they will address client queries.The medical billing and collection specialist must possess critical thinking skills and an understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and most National Commercial Plans. In addition, the medical billing and collection specialist must demonstrate proficiency with the billing system to ensure all functionality is utilized for the utmost efficient processing of claims.Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for AR follow-up, appeals, denials, etc.Insurance collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented departmentResponsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accountsAccountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accountsResponsible to meet daily workload quotas to meet departments productivity expectationMonitor and follow up on accounts by using insurance company's portals, and making telephone calls to assure timely resolution and accurate reimbursementCorrect and adjust denied and or rejected claims to ensure proper payment is receivedWorks all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as assignedAll other duties as assignedRequired Skills:2 years of Medical Collections experience is requiredExperience with ASC, Hematology/Oncology, Specialty Pharmacy Drugs, and Infusion Therapy is a PLUSEMR Software confident (experience with Ascend, Kareo, MicroMD, Modernizing Medicine, and Practice EHR is a PLUS)Proficient in Medical Terminology and Insurance laws/GuidelinesSuperior organization and time management skillsDeadline drivenImpeccable written and verbal communication skillsEnvironment/Work Atmosphere:All work is performed onsite remote work is not availableThe fast pace and busyA growing company that supports and encourages employees to pursue their passionsFamily oriented companyComfortable work/life balance with set hoursCasual dress, jean-friendly
