Night Position Availble 2-2-3 12 hour shifts

Position is Located at our Mobile Dispatch on Goverment Street in Midtown, will take calls for Air and Ground Ambulances, dispatch Emergency and Non Emergency responses.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Dispatcher is responsible coordinating our multi-state Air and Ground patient transports. The incumbent will be the main line of communication between the caller, ground and air crew, hospitals, agencies, nurses, social workers, other EMS personnel, fire departments and administrators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Answer calls for transport requests via multi-line telephone
• Coordinate and monitor air and ground units via telephone, radio and computer software
• Follow HIPAA regulations when transmitting information
• Complete tasks timely and efficiently
• Ensuring our patients and crew are given accurate information
• Create reports after each transport
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working multi- line telephone and dispatching preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and/or holidays
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Proficient computer software skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Products
• Proficient in data entry and with 10-key calculator.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Good analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to identify issues, analyze options, and recommend a course of action to supervisor.
• Self-starter, able to work with general supervision.
• Must enjoy a dynamic environment and be able to remain flexible and manage multiple priorities, tasks, and situations.
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple tasks successfully.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able sit or stand for prolonged periods at a desk. The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. Due to the nature of work required by this position, at times, business needs will dictate additional hours over a standard 40-hour work week.
