What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3D Modeling Artist position at Media.Monks?
Our award-winning post department is looking to hire an all-star 3D modeling artist to join our 3D team in Buenos Aires. As a 3D modeling artist at Media.Monks, you employ your 3D skills to craft amazing films and animations on behalf of the world’s leading ad agencies.
We are looking for someone who knows more than Jon Snow but is eager to take their craft to the next level. With the support of experienced coworkers, we’ll help you to sharpen your skills like a Ginsu knife.
In this role you will:
- Working with our post and animation departments, you are co-responsible for achieving the required look and level of execution for a wide variety of projects within one of our most ambitious clients.
- Together with your fellow 3D Monks, you help to craft every asset to perfection through modelling, texturing, lighting, shading, UV mapping and relentless rendering.
- Ideally, you can also contribute to compositing, animating and anything else that goes into a fine VFX or animation shot.
Experience you already have:
- With around 4 years of CG modeling experience, you’ve earned your stripes in the field and are ready to take this next step.
- You understand commercial production workflows and have experience working as part of a post-production team on CG or VFX projects.
- You are highly organized in your scenes and folders, making sure we can move fast without breaking things.
- You have a well-developed feel for 1) what is needed and 2) how long it takes to get a certain shot or asset right.
- Lastly, you always remain critical towards your own work and possess an unstoppable drive for achieving visual perfection.
- This position requires knowledge and skill across all aspects of the 3D production process, with experience in lighting, texturing and shading/look development but with a key focus on modeling ● Knowing Maya is essential to the role.
- You should also be able to work with tools like Substance Painter
