Lead Press Operator

Summary:

Our Prairie Mountain Media facility is seeking a Lead Press Operator to join our team! This is a temporary position, offering short term opportunity at the Berthoud Printing Plant.

What you will do:

• The #1 Press Operator is required to direct the work of Press operators, level 1-3 on any given shift
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or stackers to be moved and set-up
• Start up and monitor press and set color and registration
• Monitors stackers for proper operation
• Verify Pressroom has stock, plates, and ink for upcoming jobs
• Cleans machines and work area daily
• Completes job forms and other department documents as necessary
• Maintains neat and orderly department, implementing good housekeeping practices
• Utilize forklift to retrieve paper rolls from warehouse as needed
• Serve as Lead on the shift; not responsible for hiring or disciplinary actions
• Perform all press maintenance as needed

What you will bring:

• Ability and willingness to and successfully become forklift and pallet jack certified if hired
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• This position may be required to work night and weekend work and the ability to work a 12 hour shift
• Prior press operating experience
• Ability to lift products of up to 50 pounds and move rolls of newsprint over a 12 hour shift

The hourly wage is $28.25. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
