What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reporter position at Media News Group?
The Vallejo Times Herald is looking for a general assignment staff reporter. Will report on various activities and people within the Vallejo and Solano County community.
What you will do:
- Primary responsibility is reporting at least two byline stories per day
- Working cooperatively with our small team or journalists.
What you will bring:
- Journalism experience, AP style knowledge and the ability to quickly compile accurate reporting on a variety of topics. Spelling and grammar skills required.
- Experience working with various technologies for the position including PC laptops, digital cameras and recording equipment.
- Good people skills are necessary for conducting interviews with sources.
- Prefer experience covering city government.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in a professional journalism newsroom preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 per hour
