Avera is seeking a Communication Specialist!This position may be eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonusPosition Highlights : Paid Time Off (PTO) available on Day 1!Options for Free Health Insurance!Job Summary : The Communication Specialist is responsible for receiving and coordinating transport requests for Avera Careflight from multiple sources for both ground and air medical transport.

The Communication Specialist is responsible for tracking all air medical and ground transport of Avera Careflight in accordance with FAA Safety and CAMTS accreditation standards.

The Communication Specialist must effectively communicate with air medical crew, requesting and receiving agencies, and incoming aircraft through a variety of modes such as radio and telephone.

The Communication Specialist is expected to uphold Avera Careflight’s Mission and Values.Education and / or Experience : High school diploma or general education degree required.

EMT or EMD experience preferred.On the job training provided.Medical terminology knowledge or medical secretary training preferred.

Previous experience in the medical field preferred.General knowledge of codes, ordinances, regulations, geography and public safety procedures preferred.

IAMTCS certification required within 2 years of hire.Work Schedule : Varied Shifts; 72hrs / 2wksPay : The hourly range for this position is listed below.
