What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriting Coordinator position at Medica?
The Underwriting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Underwriting team by maintaining electronic filing systems, running reports, and managing case assignments.
Qualifications:
- HS diploma, or equivalent plus 2 years of administrative experience required
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare and Insurance Industry experience
- Experience with Salesforce
Skills and Abilities:
- Maintains electronic filing system within Windows File Explorer
- Utilizes Salesforce to assign new business and renewal opportunities to the Underwriting team and facilitates additional casework reassignment requests
- Provides reporting in support of monthly renewal process e.g., membership, premium and claim reports
- Provides adhoc reporting as needed
- Coordinates with Sales and Account Management to manage monthly group renewal survey process
- Communicates with Underwriting, Sales, Account Management and Sales Effective teams on a regular basis
This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the designated office - Minnetonka - for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
