Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an AVP Congenital Heart Program for our team to be an innovator. HCA Healthcare partners with Harvard Pilgrim Institute and the CDC to use our data from more than 26 million patient encounters each year to impact the industry. Come build your career with us!

• This position will require the candidate to have nursing operations experience combined with a high level of business acumen and executive presence to support aggressive growth activities including strategic planning and physician relationship development and programmatic development.
• The AVP works collaboratively with the key Medical Directors to ensure the program performs is continually driving performance and growth and remains highly rated for outcomes in national benchmarking databases.
• The AVP is also has frequent engagement with division and corporate level leadership of this signature service line and ensures the program is engaged in professional conferences at the national level.
• The AVP Congenital Heart Program identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business trends, resource availability and changes in customers.
• This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
• Responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, delegating, directing and evaluating pediatric cardiac services delivered by Medical City Children’s Hospital, including in the CICU as well as other clinical departments, and potentially any future units which may be developed, based on the hospital mission, vision and facility goals related to the care of congenital heart program.
• Collaborates and coordinates with other department leadership, for the functions and activities of nursing care performed in the above-mentioned areas in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
• Maintains effective communication. Develops and recommends policies, procedures or programs to improve or enhance the quality, efficiency and/or effectiveness of patient care within the specialty area in collaboration with medical staff and other disciplines.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. · Master’s Degree in Nursing · MHA or MBA preferred.
• Five (5) years’ experience in management, preferable in a hospital setting with experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, and physician relations.
• General acute pediatric and pediatric critical care preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross BLS.
• Certification in clinical specialty or leadership, highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated ability to manage, plan, and communicate programs that follow the mission and success indicators to improve or enhance the quality, efficiency and/or effectiveness of patient care within the product line.
• Must have knowledge of pediatric general acute and critical care nursing and the ability to drive the professional practice of nursing and develop a participative environment that supports nursing advocacy. ·
• Ability to interact effectively with various groups or one-on-one, including with physicians partners.
• Excellent communication/articulation skills.
• Must have the ability to drive unit performance in alignment with hospital strategic and quality goals.
