Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for identifying and developing appropriate solutions for various reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs. Develops and leads integrated solutions and effectively applies both business knowledge and technical expertise to design, develop, and implement BI solutions, databases, data warehouses, data marts, interfaces, custom programming, complex reports, and analysis. Provides technical expertise in the architecture and development of integrated data and business process improvement solutions for functional areas through the use of technology in support of the organization. Works significantly in the Epic Cogito reporting suite with applications including Radar, Reporting, Workbench, Slicer/Dicer, Caboodle, and crystal reports. Also works with other applicable MFA BI products for data warehousing, ETL, and data visualization. Supports end users and organizational leadership in obtaining meaningful data, analytics, and insights to assist with decision-making.

- Captures, documents, and represents user needs during intake, development, and testing of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions
- Delivers high quality reporting & BI solutions that enable user functionality with minimal ongoing maintenance and a low volume of production incidents (production failures, help desk calls, etc.). Troubleshoots incidents surrounding supported solutions
- Identifies issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them
- Providers support for new and existing reporting and BI applications
- Prepares complete, accurate, and well-written specifications, user training and documentation, and operational procedures
- Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives and other members of the Epic team, including participating in regular project team meetings.
- Develops and maintains understanding of the various users needs for data, analytics, and business intelligence. Proposes meaningful solutions and develops the software to deliver them
Minimum Qualifications
Education
College Degree Required:
· Bachelor’s degree (IT/Computer Science/Data Science or similar focus) OR
· Associate’s degree with at least four (4) years’ substantial experience
Licensure
- Current Epic certification(s) for relevant applications. Business Intelligence Analysts will need to possess and maintain at least one Epic Clarity Data Model. Other requirements may be assigned by the Business Intelligence Manager. New hires and transfers have no more than 45 days from completion of MFA-sponsored Epic training to complete any required Epic certifications. Analysts must remain current on Epic Certifications, badges, trainings, and other credentials.
Experience
- 3 years minimum experience in creating reporting solutions. Healthcare experience strongly preferred. Additional experience may be required based upon assignment
Physical Requirements
- Walk, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulder frequently in a clinical setting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 20 lbs. as part of the role
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
