The Benefit Services Assistant position allows you the flexibility to work at home as long as you reside within the Cleveland, OH or Toledo, OH area.

Updates and maintains departmental logs for all incoming work. Distributes incoming work to, and assists staff members. Offers general support for the installation process which includes the individual and small group unit, 51-99 group processing and general clerical support.

Responsibilities

Benefit Services Assistant

Creates and distributes weekly online hold report for management approval. Maintains tracking system for problem and resolution log.

Verifies Membership keying for groups. Assists in keying basic benefit information into the customer service system and adjudication system.

Maintains corporate comment codes used in claims processing.

• Completes account worksheets for 51-99 or under 50 groups.
• Logs and distributes work.
• Assists in the creation and distribution of ID card PDFs to Sales and Customer Service. Researches issues.
• Provides general clerical support for the department on special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Sr Benefit Services Assistant

• Completes account worksheets for 51-99 or under 50 groups. Supports large group installation processes as well.
• Assists in the creation and distribution of ID card PDFs to Sales and Customer Service. Reviews daily holds and overrides.

Processes daily holds and overrides accordingly. Researches issues.

Creates and distributes weekly online hold (OLH) report for management approval. Maintains tracking system for problem and resolution (P&R) log.

Verifies Membership keying for groups. Assists in keying basic benefit information into the customer service system and adjudication system.

Maintains corporate comment codes used in claims processing.

Qualifications

Benefit Services Assistant

Education and Experience

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 6 months experience in a health insurance benefit administration capacity.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Intermediate MS Office Skills including MS Access.
• Familiarity with health insurance benefits.

Sr Benefit Services Assistant

Education and Experience

• Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, but will consider collective experience, training and education
• 3 years experience as a Benefit Services Assistant or equivalent experience in a health insurance benefit administration capacity preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Intermediate MS Office Skills including MS Access.
• Familiarity with health insurance benefits.
