Job description
We are a specialty practice for a group of providers in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. We are looking for that special person who is looking to make a difference in a patient's life. This position is a combination of billing and administrative assistance. This individual must feel comfortable in communicating with the patient whether it is regarding a past due invoice or collecting an account in collections.
Billing Responsibilities:
- Preparing, reviewing, entering and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame.
- Review patient billings for accuracy and completeness, obtaining missing information.
- Create account statements for customers
- Answer customer inquiries
- Create reports and present to manager
- Managing account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies
- Collecting all information needed to calculate bills receivable
- Insurance verifications
- Posting patient payments
- Working on denials
Administrative Assistant:
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Maintain employee monthly training
- Develop and maintain and filing system
- Order office supplies
- Answer the phones and direct patient, insurance and vendor calls as appropriate
- Provide general support to visitors
- Write letters and emails on behalf of other office staff
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
