Medicus Spine & Joint is an Orthopedic-Medical/Surgical facility located in Brunswick, GA. We are proud to serve a diverse patient population consisting of 60% Orthopedic and 40% Interventional Pain patients. Our specialty focus includes patients candidates for spine & extremity surgery and interventional pain management procedures. We collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and interventional pain management physicians specializing in spine, shoulder, & knee procedures to assist patients achieve their maximum mobility and independence. Our thriving multi-specialty medical practice needs an experienced Medical Front Office Specialist with excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills. Medical Front Office Specialist are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping skills. Our practice is comprised of orthopedic surgeons, interventional pain management physicians, chiropractors, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants.
To ensure success, Medical Receptionists should be confident and professional administrators with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day administration of the healthcare facility. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies.
Medical Front Office Specialist Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller's needs yourself
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and PA/NP availability
- Maintain hard copy patient records as well as the files stored in our EHR
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and to help them schedule testing for off-site services
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
Medical Front Office Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (advantageous, but not required).
- Administration certification (advantageous, but not required).
- 2 years of experience at a healthcare facility in a Medical Receptionist role (essential).
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding (highly advantageous).
- Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to emergency situations.
- Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
- Excellent documentation, communication and Computer skills.
- Passionate about healthcare excellence.
- Must exhibit excellent grammar, spelling, and typing skills.
