Responsibilities:
- Performs extensive medical record review and collaborates with Medical Providers to ensure the documentation is complete and accurate for billing purposes
- Clarifies with physicians regarding missing, unclear, unsupported or conflicting health record documentation by requesting and obtaining additional documentation from physicians when needed
- Reviews ICD-10 diagnosis codes to ensure that the documentation supports the codes selected to the highest degree of specificity
- Reviews checklist of items to make sure everything matches
- Reviews encounters to ensure that billing matches the medical documentation
- Searches patient health record to find documentation justifying code assignment based on an expanded knowledge of the organization and structure of the patient record
- Receive, process, and upload to all electronic medical record timely and in accordance with standard operating procedures, to ensure a complete patient medical record
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of clinical documentation experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in and demonstrate excellent physician relations
- Ability to prioritize work independently and evaluate workload in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with co-workers
- Ability to learn appropriate software application(s)
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent observation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Thrives and enjoys hitting daily goals and working in a productivity environment
Full time Remote position. Working 32-40 hours per week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
