We are looking for Medication Technicians for our Richmond City Justice Center to join a diverse team who brings knowledge and skills from a variety of backgrounds. Our healthcare providers have autonomy when caring for patients and use strong assessment skills to quickly identify risk factors and provide quality patient care.
What You'll Do:
Healthcare providers support and assist with patient care for the residents in the facility.
- Dispenses oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients.
- Observes patients for drug reactions and reports any problems to Charge nurse.
- Monitors patients vital signs, calculate medication dosages, and stocks the medication cart.
- Records what medications and dosages were given for the day.
- Performs routine procedures under established protocols including phlebotomy and electrocardiograms.
- Manages and maintains pharmacy stocks of medicine and medical supplies.
- Respond to requests from Security Staff as well as Mediko Staff in accordance with Mediko and Facility Guidelines. This includes following the rules and regulations for employee conduct/behavior and chain of command set forth by the command staff at all times while working within the detention/correctional facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We Require:
- Completion of and certified as a Certified Medication Aide
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Criminal background check, Security Clearance and Drug Screening
