Description:
Interviews incoming patient or representative and enters information required for admission by performing the following duties.
- Interviews patient or representative to obtain accurate demographics.
- Explains hospital regulations such as visiting hours, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.
- Verification and eligibility of insurance benefits
- Enters patient information and routes completed paperwork to appropriate departments. Obtains signed statement from patient to protect hospital's interests.
- Accepts and stores patient valuables when necessary. Receives payments on account.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); One year experience in medical patient finance; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
