Job Summary:
Medinah Country Club is seeking experienced servers to join our Food & Beverage team. At Medinah, we are passionate about great food, and we love creating an atmosphere where Members and Guests can connect with one another. As such, our restaurants require food and beverage professionals with a willingness to provide outstanding and memorable service. As a server at Medinah, you would play a crucial role in creating this connection while maintaining a great work-life balance.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Demonstrate genuine hospitality by greeting, servicing, and establishing positive relationships with Members and Guests throughout the Club.
· Deliver exceptional dining experiences and show thorough knowledge of the menu while answering questions Members might have about food and beverage offerings.
· Stock, organize and maintain restaurant equipment, storage, and dining areas.
· Keep server stations stocked appropriately and keep their station/section clean and prepared for new guests.
· Set up and break down the restaurant and patio, keeping each clean, safe, and presentable. This includes stocking, organizing, and maintaining all equipment and storage areas.
· Put away requisitions each day, ensuring all items are stocked appropriately for the following shift.
· Communicate orders with Members and Guests, ring orders through POS and serve orders promptly and accurately.
· Answer questions regarding the food and beverage menu.
· Make heartfelt food and beverage recommendations to Members and Guests.
· Own every member request.
· Perform all side work and any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
· Be punctual and reliable, showing up for shifts as scheduled.
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Must have willingness to serve and a positive attitude.
· Must have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must have ability to work effectively with a team.
· Must have previous serving experience; 1 year preferred.
· Must be available to work nights, weekends, Club events, most holidays, and all Club black-out dates.
· Must possess or obtain a valid Food Handler and Basset certification prior to employment.
· Must possess a sincere desire to satisfy the needs of Members and Guests in a fast-paced environment.
· Required to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs.
· Experience in private clubs is a plus.
