Salary Range- $75,000- $100,000
The company is a leading provider of behavioral health care services based in Middletown, CT. We provide world-class clinicians to patients, virtually and in-person, in long term care facilities who wouldn't otherwise have physical access to specialized care. We are looking for energetic, hard-working individuals to help the company continue to succeed.
The Senior Accountant will need to be an independent worker, detail-oriented, and have a sense of urgency. Additionally, they will have strong organizational habits and must have the ability to meet critical deadlines. Must be in commutable distance to Middletown, CT office.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting and payroll functions including, but not limited to, recording business transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing and recording payables, billing and collections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Help process month-end and year-end close process.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Post month end and year end journal entries.
- Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Answer employees’ questions and concerns regarding payroll and bonuses.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc payroll reports.
- Collect and maintain an accurate list of any payroll adjustments needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Business or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of Accounting experience
- Knowledge of Paychex a plus, but not required
