Job Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing competent professional nursing care under supervision using the nursing process. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
-
CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO AN APPROPRIATE COMBINATION OF EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.

Education/Training
-
Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate School of Nursing.

Experience
-
Previous experience as a nursing assistant or nurse tech desired. Satisfactory references from the school of nursing attended.

License/Certification/Registration
-
1) must be waiting for results of NCLEX exam (first sitting) already taken; OR 2) must have set a NCLEX exam date (first sitting) within 2 months of GUH hire/start date OR 3) must have successfully completed the NCLEX and is awaiting DC Nursing Licensure. No Graduate Nurse Technician can be in this classification if they have already failed boards, or if they do not set a NCLEX exam date within two months after hire/start. BLS required.
