Job Summary

Under the direction of MedStar Medical Group leadership, the Physician Recruiter is responsible for successfully filling the physician staffing needs for Medical Group (MMG) and assigned MedStar entities by managing the entire life cycle recruiting and placement process from prospecting to closing qualified candidates. Position develops and implements programs, plans, policies, and procedures for recruitment screening, selection, placement and retention of physicians for MedStar Medical Group (MMG).

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelors degree in HR, Marketing, Public Relations or related field of study.

Experience
-
2 years experience working in HR/Healthcare and Physician Recruiting, a Hospital system, or staffing agency.

License/Certification/Registration
-
Certificate as a Medical Staff recruiter through the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) or the experience/knowledge to become certified as defined by ASPR is preferred.

Ability to act independently and problem solve. Professional demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of working with an ATS, word, excel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
-

Conducts the screening, evaluation and interviewing process consistent with HR policies and guidelines. This includes, but may not be limited to, arranging interview schedules, obtaining credentials, conducting interviews, checking references, working with the internal credentialing team, onboarding of new hires, etc.

Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Creates ads, flyers and mailings for job openings. Posts and maintains openings on job board. Runs recruitment reports for weekly meetings.

Develops and maintains a database and network of qualified resources to ensure adequate staffing pipelines.

In conjunction with Immigration attorneys, coordinates and ensures compliance with all immigration and work authorization processes.

Initiates recruitment efforts with physicians in local residency programs and arranges residency luncheons and presentations. Prepares for and participates in all residency recruitment events and career fairs.

Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Works closely with MMG and assigned MedStar business leadership to develop strategies and initiatives to attract and recruit top talent. Assists leadership with specific search assignments including developing tailored recruitment and sourcing for assigned provider groups (may include MMG, hospitals and specialty practices).Develops and maintains an initial and ongoing recruitment and retention plan for each new physician recruitment need to identify properly experienced and credentialed professional personnel. Develops proactive recruitment schemes for MedStar and other residency programs to maintain a pipeline of candidates.

Works with senior management to negotiate contracts and compensation packages in accordance with MSH guidelines and with consultation with the President of MMG or assigned entity leadership. Responsible for the development and execution of physician contracts and support packages in conjunction with MedStar’s legal counsel.
