Unit Highlights
The Registered Nurse First Assistant may act as First Assistant to the surgeon on all surgical operations with the exception of craniotomies, open heart surgery, epicardial pacemakers, neurosurgery, laminectomies, carpal tunnel, and sympathectomies. The Registered Nurse II-First Assistant will act under the direct supervision of the surgeon at all times.
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- 2 years Prior Operating Room Nursing Experience required.
- Must possess and maintain BLS, ACLS, ABLS certifications.
- Completion of an approved Registered Nurse First Assistant program of instruction if already an RN First Assistant.
- Current CNOR certification.
- Must be able to respond to hospital within 30 minutes when serving on-call time.
