Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services and advisory supervision of the Clinical Dieticians, the operations supervisor supervises and coordinates daily activities of the Food and Nutrition Services employees preparing and delivering food for the hospital patients, staff and visitors, following set policies and procedures and regulatory agency standards. Directs and supervises the preparing and serving of food.
This is a full time opportunity. You will be scheduled as needed and be required to work rotating weekends.
Primary Duties:
· Schedules, assigns, and supervises the activities of the dietary aides in serving meal to the patients including tray line setup, tray line operation, quality of food, tray service and accuracy, VIP service, meals delivery, and dish room.
· Provides daily operational leadership and oversight of the food and nutrition department.
· Places food and supply orders for Food and Nutrition Department under the direct supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition. Approves invoices and updates financial checkbook.
· Assist’s in selecting, training, orientation, and assigning department staff.
· Communicates with other departments in the hospital to maintain effective working relationships.
· Inspects serving line for attractiveness, palatability, and records daily food temperatures prior to opening of the tray line and cafeteria.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Associates degree, preferred.
· 3-4 years of Supervisory experience in an acute care environment required.
· Previous experience in food retail, previous experience in a supervisory/purchasing capacity in food service is necessary, and hospital experience is preferable with a good background in nutrition and purchasing is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
· Certified Professional Food Manager, Food Safety Manager Certificationby Health Department, required.
