In this exciting Inspector II role, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high performing receiving inspection team at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. The Brooklyn Center facility supports the design, development, and production of components used in implantable devices for a variety of Medtronic businesses. In this role you will gain experience with component inspection to support MECC’s battery models. You will work as a key member of the inspection team, ensuring optimum product quality to support daily production operations as well as identification of test method discrepancies. You will work closely with fellow technicians, engineers, and project coordinators. This role requires onsite work during 6am-2:30pm morning shift hours.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
- Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment.
- Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
- Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Quality and Manufacturing systems, as well Microsoft Office Software for Documentation, Processing Materials, Data Collect, and Communications.
- Diligently follow procedures and filling out forms.
- Ability multitask/ prioritize to complete an optimal amount of quality work in a timely manner.
