Medtronic is looking for an Sr. Program Manager, IT Communications to join the Corporate Communications team. This new role will report directly to the Sr. Director, IT Communications.
In this role, you will lead communications for strategic and global IT projects and initiatives that are significant to the company, inclusive of transformation and change management programs. You will counsel stakeholders on best practices to better engage employees and drive business outcomes. This role will also partner with colleague across IT to drive communications innovation and operational excellence, helping develop and deploy best practices, tools, and resources to simplify work, enhance processes, upskill team capabilities, and elevate the IT and Communications functions.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Handles the creation and implementation of multiple forms of strategic communication activities, programs, and content in support of global IT projects guided by IT priorities and overall business strategy.
- Supports global transformation and change management projects.
- Writes communications plans, key messages, faqs and communications.
- Provides strategic communications guidance and support to IT leadership.
- Responsible for planning, storytelling, writing and editing to persuade, educate and inspire internal audiences to change behavior or understand the work environment.
- Maintains strong relationships with leaders and business partners and delivers communication consultation and support around high-priority IT projects with broad impact to global audiences.
- Partners with IT Colleagues and Communications Colleagues on benchmarking, driving innovation, and communications operational excellence across the organization.
- Supports projects with the highest value/ROI and ensures projects stay on track (provides project management support).
- Contributes to and supports maintenance of an IT Calendar and Sharepoint Site
- Manages content distribution across multiple channels (e.g., Eloqua/email, Yammer, SharePoint) for Enterprise projects.
- Oversees agency and contractors for IT projects, as needed.
- Applies journalistic skills to lead discovery and sourcing meetings with leaders, cross-functional partners, and communications team members to inform communication strategies.
- Applies internal communications expertise and consulting skills to advise those who wish to engage global audiences; provides coaching to business partners on effective internal communication planning and execution.
- Creates dashboard, scorecards, and reports (maintains KPIs) for global IT projects, assessing performance against objectives, and leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and inform future strategies.
- Bachelors degree with a minimum of 7 years of program management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years program management experience

- Solutions-oriented and effective at developing processes, systems and governance that simplify work and enhance performance.
- Strong journalistic skills to source information and capture compelling stories that inform, inspire and activate employees.
- Deep experience writing and producing internal content, including leader messages, news articles, scripts, talking points, FAQs, video, and social media/Yammer posts, among others.
- Strong change management capabilities and understanding of organizational dynamics.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships across a variety of functions and with all levels of management and employees.
- Trusted to operate with the highest levels of ethics and integrity, protecting confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines (project mgmt.).
- Experience with multi-channel communications deployment.
- Experience with crisis communications and issues management.
- Basic design / creative skills (e.g., PPT, asset development).
- Eloqua and SharePoint experience a plus.
- Proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Teams and Yammer.
- Surgical/medical technology/medical device/healthcare industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
