- Es t i m a t es the amount of materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code.
- Assists sal es men as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
- Assists in trim take-offs as requ es t ed .
- Provid es assistance to contractors as needed.
- Trains sal es repr es entativ es in es t i m a t ing techniqu es .
- Assist sal es staff with blueprint reading and construction procedur es .
- Review actual vs. es t i m a t ed materials on completion of each project.
- Works on sal es / hardware counter as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITI ES :
- Minimum education required -Technical Degree in engineering or related area.
- Minimum experience required-2 or more years of construction and building materials related experience.
Special skills required
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variabl es .
- Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs and to instruct others in effective use of application software.
- Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
Special Knowledge required
- Understanding of measurements and basic math principl es .
- Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, standing and walking, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
