The Regional Chapter Operations Manager drives the overall chapter performance within a designated region and is the primary contact for Regional Council Chair and Vice Chair and volunteer chapter leaders. The Regional Operations Manager is a transformational performance leader, whose role is critical to strengthening the relationships between MPI, Regional Councils, Chapters, and their members. This position is charged with proactively onboarding, managing, training, and communicating with volunteer chapter leaders to ensure adherence to MPI Chapter Bylaws, Chapter Policies & Procedures Manual, and Brand Guide. The Regional Operations Manager influences the development of content related to chapter relations and management issues, proactively recommends process-improvement opportunities and training on best practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure chapters achieve key KPIs and performance standards established by MPI by leading the performance management of chapters within a region. Support the development and tactics of the Regions Annual Performance goals to include membership acquisition and retention, financial practices, budgeting, strategic initiatives, governance oversight, succession planning and education. Proactively make decisions to help chapter leadership overcome challenges, improve performance, and achieve goals. Act as the bridge between MPI and the Regional Council on leadership, communicating strategic initiatives and coaching chapters on how to integrate global initiatives into local operations. (35%)
  2. Design, develop, facilitate, and strategize with internal team and Regional Council on all aspects of chapter operations and leadership training to determine strategies, programs and tactics that will enhance chapter membership growth, fiscal health, sustainability, member engagement and satisfaction to align with MPI vision, mission, and goals. Perform Volunteer Committee liaison duties as assigned. (25%)
  3. Establish regular chapter communications and utilize MPI global staff to support volunteer chapter leaders with MPI policy news, leadership training/professional development, marketing initiatives and promotions, MPI signature event registrations, and other ad hoc initiatives.
  4. Manage daily phone and email inquiries regarding the MPI policies, guidelines, bylaws, and other chapter operation questions. Provides administrative tasks, project management, and team support as assigned by Director. (20%)
  5. Drive individual membership and business membership growth in assigned areas by demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of economic trends and community needs to recognize areas of improvement. Apply this to the development, and execution of action plans to correct any chapter deficiencies. Build relationships with key stakeholders (inside and outside of chapter leadership) to identify needs, educate on the benefits of MPI engagements and convert. (10%)
  6. Complete performance reviews of assigned chapters for MPI leadership, Regional Councils and share with volunteer leaders and their Chapter Administrators/AMC that will provide baseline for performance areas that need improvement. Ensure chapters are meeting chapter status through active involvement and recommend chapter additions, mergers, and dissolution based on performance and or market conditions. (10%)

Travel: approximately 25%



EXPERIENCE

  • Five years’ experience working with field units, satellite offices or subgroups, or chapters of an association and/or franchises
  • Experience working with volunteers and performance management
  • Five years’ experience in data analysis and building strategic business plans
  • Volunteer leadership experience preferred but not required

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business or marketing or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
