What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Melfi's?
Melfi's, a clubby fine-dining Italian restaurant on Upper King Street, is hiring for a great host. We are owned and operated by the same group behind Leon's Oyster Shop, Little Jack's, and Monza.
We are looking for a kickass, stylish, confident, cool host that understands the importance of 'working a room' and connecting with guests. We aren't looking for people to simply walk customers to a table. We want dynamic, confident people who are interested in a position that is personality first in a high-energy environment.
We want someone that wants to dress up stylishly and can balance plenty with a cool head: answering the phone, welcoming customers, identifying and getting to know our regulars, understanding the flow of a busy restaurant, and connecting with team members to run a great service. The best person will be a core part of the restaurant - someone that customers want to see and want to know. Someone who can get them a table. Or remembers their birthday. Or knows their children's names. We want someone that makes the experience personal.
