Assistant Controller

SUMMARY
Directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company
• Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs
• Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.  
• Oversees the preparation of monthly financial statements and other dashboard measurements
• Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification
• Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
• Responsible for and directs the product costing, inventory management and item master processes.
• Participates and leads in areas of control for audits of company's accounts. (CPA’s, Revenue Agents, Cost Savings Consultants, etc.)
• Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, insurance companies, bank and benefit providers
• Understanding of and working with ERP systems
• Knowledgeable of and supports Human Resource policies & practices.  Strives for continuous improvement in their area of expertise and job function that results in better cost, quality, or functionality of the products we deliver to our customers
• Promote good employee relations and high morale
• Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
• All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• None

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and 6 to 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products, specifically with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with JDE ERP software preferred 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Work in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to heat, loud noise, dust, odors, dirt/dust and fumes
