Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced paramedic to be a member of our team of healthcare professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to provide swift emergency medical care that will include responding to emergency calls, performing various medical procedures, administering medication, when needed, and transporting patients to healthcare facilities. You must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. To be successful in this role you must be committed to providing the best patient care. You will be compassionate and focused.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide emergency medical assistance, such as CPR or bandaging a wound
2. Obtains information from persons involved, examines victims, and determines nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury to establish emergency medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.
3. Provide first aid or life support to patients who are sick or injured
4. Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at medical treatment facilities.
5. Document what kind of medical treatment was given to the patient from the moment of arriving at the scene to transferring the patient to the healthcare facility
6. Inspects specially equipped emergency vehicle, cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation, and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.
7. Stabilizes, immobilizes, lifts, and moves victims from scene of accident or catastrophe.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school or GED completion
- State driver’s license
- State Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification (LP/EMT-P/NREMT-P)
- AHA Basic Life Support Certification
- AHA Advanced Life Support Certification
- Certified as a CPR Instructor in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association
